turns out, i stumbled upon Matt's very first dread that "left the family". he's been saving it for years in a stack of musical accompaniment books.

spent quite a bit of time psyching myself up for the grocery store... made it out with no cart rage and only 2 calls to my mother. that, friends, is a christmas miracle.

ah, Winter... that magical season, when Minneapolitans drop trash on the ground because no one will see it until March, when you always know exactly where the dog did his "business", when shoveling the sidewalk 3 times in 24 hours (and driving 10 mph on the highway) is perfectly reasonable... we herald your triumphant juggernaut of a return!

hot dish, eh?

made Tater Tot Hot Dish for the first time tonight. still earning my Minnesota stripes, apparently... and it wasn't even the tried-and-true version. it was way better. i used plain ole ground beef instead of bison, and i think next time i'm going to try some feta instead of solely bleu cheese. it was a little overpowering for such a classic Minnesotan recipe.
